If you're going to mix lots of patterns and textures, stick with solid-colored shoes, and go for a head to toe, monochromatic color scheme, as seen in this picture - purple shoes, purple lace stockings, purple patterned dress. No matter how many models you've seen doing it, if done incorrectly, mixing patterns can be a nightmare. But as long as you stick to the rules, the look can be fantastic.
